SERVICES PROVIDED IN THE HEALTH UNIT

Coordination and regulation of Health Services

  • Strengthen coordination and oversight of both public and private health facilities.
  • Harmonize the operations of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers.

Provide integrated responses to general public health challenges, including:

  • Prevention of non-communicable diseases through community-based physical activities (sports for all).
  • Prevention of communicable diseases through Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) interventions.
  • Addressing poor sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Community sensitization and awareness on MUSA.

Conduct quality assurance and regulatory inspections of health services:

  • For private health facilities: ensure compliance with standards for certification and licensing.
  • For public health facilities: strengthen capacity through continuous improvement programs.

Health promotion

  • Promote public awareness on key health indicators at both community and health facility levels.
  • Ensure registration of all children born in health facilities through the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system.
