NYABIHU: DISTRICT WELCOMES MEMBERS OF THE RWANDA ELDERS ADVISORY FORUM

A delegation of members of Rwanda Elders Advisory Forum, led by Mrs. Agnès Kyijire, visited Nyabihu District, where they held discussions with district officials and staff from various institutions of the District on public service delivery.

The delegation was received by the Mayor of Nyabihu District, Mrs. MUKANDAYISENGA Antoinette, together with both Deputy Mayors and representatives of security organs. Discussions were held with Sector Executive Secretaries, heads of departments and other staff on ways to improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens.

The discussions focused on addressing challenges that prevent citizens from accessing services in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with prescribed service delivery timelines, staff management, and inappropriate conduct by some officials. The delegation also discussed measures to prevent corruption and related practices, as well as the importance of addressing citizens’ concerns and assisting them fairly and effectively.

On the second day, the delegation met with staff of Bigogwe Sector to discuss challenges affecting timely service delivery and measures to address them. The delegation also visited a potato seed multiplication facility, where it assessed its contribution to providing farmers with quality planting materials and discussed measures to address challenges affecting the activities.

On the third day, the delegation visited Bigogwe Health Centre, where it held discussions with health workers on the delivery of health services, existing challenges and measures to improve service provision.
